Lindsey Givens, MA, ALC

Practicing under the supervision of Sara Parker, LPC-S

I work with Adults and Couples who want a safe place to let their guard down, better understand what they think and feel, and make sense of the experiences shaping their lives and relationships. My approach is grounded in compassion and curiosity, with room for both kindness and challenge as we work toward greater clarity, healing, and growth.

I offer in-person sessions at our office in Daphne, Alabama,
& Telehealth sessions throughout Alabama.

About Lindsey

I believe our experiences shape our minds, emotions, relationships, and the way we move through the world, for better or worse. The hopeful part is that we are not simply stuck with what has been handed to us. New and corrective experiences can help us heal, grow, and begin responding differently.

We may be carrying an unresolved past, trying to make sense of the present, facing an important decision, or worrying about what the future might hold. Whatever brings you to counseling, I believe there is something powerful about having a safe place to let your guard down and explore what is happening inside with a guide who knows the terrain.

For me, emotional safety is fueled by compassion and curiosity. One of my heroes, Brennan Manning, often said, “Nobody is as they should be.” I carry that idea with me into the counseling room. I want the people I work with to feel free to come as they are, without having to perform, have the right answers, or become a more acceptable version of themselves before we begin. You and your story are welcome here.

At the same time, I believe good counseling includes both kindness and challenge. We need compassion for the places that hurt, but we may also need encouragement to look more closely, consider something differently, or take a step we have been avoiding. My hope is to offer both in a way that helps people feel supported rather than pushed.

There is courage involved in stepping into the light and seeing ourselves and others more clearly. That kind of honesty can be uncomfortable, but it can also lead to greater understanding, healthier relationships, more intentional choices, and a deeper sense of peace.

I do not see myself as standing outside your story with all the answers. I see counseling more as walking alongside you for a season, helping you notice what may be difficult to see on your own, offering perspective when it is useful, and staying present as you decide where you want to go next.

It is an honor to be trusted in that way. I would consider it a privilege to be a fellow traveler with you as you make sense of where you have been, where you are, and what healing and growth might look like moving forward.
